Billy, our guide at On the Wallaby Tours, showed us some cool things in the forest like how to make whistles out of the shells of candle nuts. I found Billy's good humour, professionalism and use of music to entertain us along the way very fitting. The tour of Millaa Millaa was the funniest thing I had seen for ages. Lake Barrine was a nice stop with people seeing the Kauri Pines, a great example of Gympie Gympie and a Boyd's Dragon close to the path. The swim and lunch at Lake Eacham was refreshing, we saw turtles too. The crater (which was the only site I hadn't seen before) was quite unique. It was great fun walking up to the edge with our eyes closed and then hurtling our ‘presents' into it.

This was an overnight tour and I was very impressed with the On the Wallaby Lodge it was high quality accommodation with friendly hosts. I had enough time to venture down to do a wine tasting, look at the opal shop and check out the beautiful old pub before platypus spotting. I had never seen a platypus before ever. I think this was the highlight of my trip. I very much enjoyed the great steak and mash cooked by Dennis when we got back before heading out for the night canoeing. I enjoyed the night canoeing - accidentally tipping my co-worker Trent out along the way - as well as seeing all the night creatures.

After a good nights sleep and breakfast we headed off cycling through the forest. This was a really good way to see the forest and to look at Vision Falls along the way. Lindy showed us some cool plants and a Golden Orb Weaver spider in the forest. Lunch was really hearty - do remember to bring some money as this meal is the only one not included. Then it was back for more canoeing and face painting which is always fun. Then we joined in the singing all the way home ...
