Kangaroo Island is a lovely Island off the South Australian coast, accessible from Adelaide either by self drive (a few hours drive) or by travelling withmany tour companies I can happily recommend.
Going with a tour company has the added advantage of not having to book the ferry and pay for a vehicle on the ferry. In peak season, summer be sure to book the ferry in advance as it does fill up. A company trip also includes a guide, pre arranged activities and accommodation.
Some of my Favourite Features of Kangaroo Island include:
- Remarkable rocks with weathered boulders forming amazing shapes against the backdrop of the ocean - takes wonderful photos
- Admirals Arch - great NZ Fur Seal viewing area
- Little Sahara which is a miniature dessert where you can run down the sand hills
- Sheep Dairy with a tour, viewing of sheep milking and cheese tasting
- Flinders Chase National Park is were I spotted most of the wildlife
- Eucalyptus Oil Distillery with great products to buy
- Seal Bay for Australian Sea lions viewing and tours

Animals I spotted in the wild on my trip: Dolphin Platypus Cap Barron Geese Penguin Magpie Goanna Possum Echidna Koala NZ Fur Seal Australian Sealion
and kangaroos!
